The Dow University of Health Sciences, commonly abbreviated as the Dow University, is a comprehensive public health university located in the bustling urban center of Karachi, Pakistan. It was established by Sir Hugh Dow, now Lord Dow, in 1945. Considered one of the leading education institutions in Pakistan, it is known for its world-class teaching, research and medical facilities. The faculty at the Dow University includes doctors, counselors, nutritionists, pharmacists, and even MBA students.
There are approximately 223 registered students who are enrolled in this university. This is comprised of undergraduate students and graduate students. The undergraduate students come from different parts of the country like Karachi, Quetta, Hyderabad, and Lahore. They have different majors like Health sciences, Medicine, Nursing, Dietetic, Counselling, Education, and Engineering. There are also students coming from different part of Asia like China, Myanmar, Korea, and Japan.
The number of students has grown steadily since its inception. There are some recent additions to the faculty including a physiotherapist, an anesthesiologist, an obstetrician, and a surgeon. This university offers online courses to their students. There are also various faculties to select from including College of Engineering, College of Health Sciences, College of Pharmacy, and College of Medicine.
The University has its branches at Rawal Lake, Hyderabad, Shahidiehpur, Azad Maidan, and Islamabad. Students who wish to pursue courses in allied healthcare also attend the university. There is a Bachelor of Arts in Health Science. There are a Bachelor of Science in Health and Medical Education and a Masters in Health and Medical Education. There is also a doctoral program in Nutrition.
Apart from attending classes in their respective fields of study, students can participate in extracurricular activities like sports, theatre, music, and film. There are many clubs and societies at the university, which students can join. The students can also take part in cultural events and workshops.

So, there are many students who can benefit from these courses.
The undergraduate courses offered at the Dow University are Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, Master of Science, and Master of Arts. All the students from different part of the world can take up these courses. The courses are divided according to the faculties. The first two-seventh year students should opt for either courses in arts and sciences or courses in humanities and social sciences. The master’s degree is generally achieved after graduation. It can be done either in the faculty of business or management, faculty of medicine and health sciences, and faculty of education and human development.
The students have to pay fees as per their choice. There are some students who join the Dow University who cannot afford to pay the fees. The students can apply for financial aid to reduce the tuition fee.
